Due Dilligence
Evaluation of technical concepts
The success of an investment also depends on the evaluation of a business idea in the very beginning. Micromata offers you as an external, independent partner to discretely evaluate the technologies that form the basis of a business idea. Through the closure of a non disclosure agreement (NDA) Micromata guarantees the protection of your idea.
Evaluation of the technology that forms the basis of a business idea
The evaluation is divided into three stages. After each stage, a joint decision is taken whether it makes sense to progress to the next evaluation stage, or whether defeating criteria outweigh the prospect for success.
Technical first glance
During one day of labour a brief inspection of the considered technologies is carried out. These technologies are evaluated in relation to state-of-the-art technology as well as the latest research. This evaluation is summarised in a short report (less then three A4 pages).
Technical analysis
If the business idea still appears to be feasible following the technical first glance and profit calculation, an accurate assessment of technology follows. During this stage, estimates of figures are verified and technologies examined in a detailed way. Eternal trustworthy experts are consulted at this point to produce a detailed analysis of the technologies within 5 labour days (in less than 15 A4 pages).
Technical due diligence
In the event that an investor decided in favour of a business idea, we offer a coaching and cooperation phase prior to the project in which external experts discuss and specify applied technologies. During this stage the technical competence of the team becomes apparent and it has been established whether the business idea can be realised with the team at hand. Should any doubts emerge regarding the possibility of realising the business idea with the team that is available, Micromata presents solutions of how to still make the project happen.
On-going Support
At any time the investor can consult a member who is part of Micromata’s network of experts in order to take corrective action in the course of the project. Without pulling out expertise, Micromata temporarily offers the placing of specialists, consultants and temporary project workers who support the project team.
What does a TDD look like?
The business idea
The completion of the project has to mirror the business idea. Hence, the business idea has to be presentable with the latest technology in a cost frame. Possible limitations that may occur during the realisation of the project must not lead to failure of the project.
The concept for the realisation of the idea
Rom was not built in one day. A realistic road map of a software product is the critical success factor of its introduction into the market. Working prototypes have to be available as early as possible without delaying the final release though. Timely market introduction has to be ensured.
Degree of Accomplishment
Software that appears to be ready may not be ready after all. Particular in software development the last 10% towards achievement may be ridden with critical paths.
Scalability
In moments where the business manager dreams of net effects – business growth that is only limited by the growth of the Internet – the technician is to voice a word of warning. There might be invisible limitations. To create a net effect a business idea has to be realised with scalable software.
Guaranteed future
The technical realisation of a business idea has to be safe for the future. It has to be ensured that the idea can be easily adapted to the market after entry without any huge efforts. New undreamt of business segments should be explored. If the technical realisation is posing obstacles, the maximum success is decreased.
the Team
The team has to be able to withstand fluctuations and every team member needs to be replaceable. If a solution functions only through the participation of a guru, this risk has to be made known.
The competition
The differentiation towards comparable products often happens through technical details, which can be adopted by the competition fairly quickly though. The evaluation of the unique selling proposition also is a technical evaluation.
